APICOLTURA VALLERA, organic honey from Monferrato
Apicoltura Vallera is small farm founded in 2001 in the hills of Monferrato dedicated to the breeding of bees and the production of organic honey. The activity began with Davide Bosio's desire to recover his grandfather Emilio's farm, renowned wine producer and amateur beekeeper.
The techniques are artisanal and mostly manual, carried out with care and with the aim of offering a pure and above all good food, respecting the life cycle of insects, just as bees like it; the processing involves the use of organic products to fight varroa (the main bee parasite), and the use of organic wax free of chemical residues. The honey is not pasteurized and thus maintains all its organoleptic properties.
The production has received numerous awards and recognitions over the years.
Rhododendron honey and high mountain wildflower honey, obtained from nectar collected above 1400 meters above sea are also Slow Food Presidiums . In fact, the Presidium aims to valorise and relaunch honey from the high Alpine mountains, which are the fruits of the hard work of the beekeeper who moves nomadically among the mountain blossoms. These productions always at risk and often scarcer than that of sedentary beekeeping, but offers excellent products of the highest quality.
