Kren: the Collio that speaks with a young voice
Kren: the Collio that speaks with a young voice
The Kren winery has its roots in the Collio region, a border region rich in winemaking traditions. It all began in the early 20th century, when the family's grandparents settled in the hills of Zegla, in the Gorizia area. Over the generations, the winery has evolved: Luciano's father cultivated a passion for winemaking, and today Luca leads the company with a vision that combines tradition, respect for the land, and innovation.
The vineyards extend over approximately 13 hectares, all in the heart of the Collio region, in the hamlet of Zegla. An important characteristic: some of the vineyards are "old vines," some 50 years old or more, which give the wines great personality and structure.
The company's philosophy is to celebrate the local area: the soil (the typical Collio limestone and ponca) and microclimate are the cornerstones of the wines' identity. A family soul and artisanal attention to detail: direct management and attention to detail foster a strong connection between the producer and the winemaker.
Vini Kren aims to become relevant for those seeking wines with history, authenticity, and a sense of place. The challenge is to establish a small producer without compromising on quality, cultivating a balance between character and freshness, between memory and novelty.
